"The portrait is about a hunt, or the constant pursuit and evasion of one’s true character. I was altering my practice some time ago, going through great upheaval and an older friend of mine (Leopold) had said that perhaps after all there is not a hedgehog in that hole but a fox. That is to say, he and myself had observed a certain prickliness and obstinacy in me but that there was another element emerging; the fox. The fox is a bit of a shapeshifter.
