Les Tanneries Centre d'art contemporain pays tribute to the long trajectory of Vincent Barré and his relation with Les Tanneries, in the exhibition A Family of Rooms. The exhibition showcases the wide range of expression Barré has as a filmmaker, sculptor, draftsman highlighting the dialogue with his students and artists whose works informed his career. A Family of Rooms traces Barré's, from his first countryside studio with Sylvain Dubuisson, the family farm in the Gâtinais region to the current studio near Amilly. Also included are the most recent Maisons/Ateliers series of table top bronze sculptures. Barré says it took 15 years as studio head at the Beaux-Arts de Paris for him to acquired a curiosity and an open-mindedness to all forms of expression.
"Over the decades, Vincent Barré grew his art practice creating monumental sculpture enhancing public and private spaces throughout France. Timeless large-scale formal work, site-specific installations are in dialogue with public buildings, vineyards, or parks. More intimate work often reflects the human form. All add soul to the spaces they inhabit."
